Patient with non-cardioembolic ischemic stroke or high-risk transient ischemic attack. Part 1. Diagnosis

Non-cardioembolic stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA) are heterogeneous conditions, some variants of which associated with a high short-term long-term risk cardiovascular events. The article presents clinical portraits patients in very groups: 1) extracranial atherosclerosis severe stenosis/subocclusion/occlusion or CT signs atherosclerotic plaque instability; 2) all intracranial atherosclerosis, especially those symptoms hemodynamic compromise multiple infarcts; 3) mobile/ulcerative atheroma the aortic arch.
